Preoperative Recommendations for Eye Surgery

Nine Important Tips:

1- Do not use soft contact lens for at least 14 days before eye surgery.
2- Do not use hard contact lens at least 3 weeks before operation.
3- Share all of your medical records as Dry Eye Syndrome, Thyroid, Diabetes, Rheumatism, Epilepsy, Hepatitis and AIDS and any sensitivity to certain medicines with the doctor and surgeon.
4- Take a bath in the morning of the eye surgery day. Be careful never wash your eyes with shampoo.
5- Women must not wear eye makeup and eyelash extensions from three days before the operation.
6- Three nights before the operation, wash your eyelashes with baby shampoo and warm water.
7- Be sure to have a companion with yourself and it is reminded that you cannot drive after eye surgery.
8- Do not use perfume and cologne on the day of the operation.
9- During operation, stay calm and listen to the instructions of the Surgical Team.
